Ulimwengo Day 19

Dear Spiritual Warriors,

Every is going accordingly, the mental barriers are showing themselves along with the physical need for healing in areas of the body. Receiving beautiful information from my brethren around me and dropping off excess 'weight'. You know what I mean right? You know weight.....the things that hold the heart down and impede flow......oh c'mon you know right!!!!! The things that we allow our minds to digest thinking that we are being kind for listening or the lack including the weight that does not help us with resilience. I remember something I learned in a workshop with HeruNkhet (information given by HeruNkhet from one of his amazing workshops):

Hysteresis

The laws of physics state that in order for change to occur, there must be applied pressure. Just like getting into physical shape requires that you challenge your heart, lungs and muscles in order for them to become more efficient and perform better, in order to get into financial shape you must challenge yourself to consistently practice a new and often significantly different thought process and behavior.
Sometimes it baffles us why we can create short term success and find ourselves back in the same predicament or worse off than where we started. This also can be explained by a simple physics concept called hysteresis. Hysteresis is the tendency for materials to snap back to their original shape once the pressure being applied is removed.
In order for permanent change to occur, a force must be applied that is strong enough to exceed the elastic limits of the old conditioning of your mind or body. This means that you must go beyond the boundaries of your experiential level. You must push beyond your point of discomfort and fear.

His explanation is well-composed and right on point. For this reason I recognize by placing a great amount of pressure to to be able to hold this posture for an hour, will help propel me forward. Our minds are trained to think and experience that it is normal to except that some things are out our reach.....why? Without placing blame on our distant cousins who's cosmic tuning deals with an aggressive attitude against nature, it is important to see that it is our responsible to extend our arms well past what we have been trained to recognize as acceptable.
What is acceptable anyway when it comes to striving to grow and embody the spirit of our ancestors and the energy of the cosmos?
Take a look at this symbol:

This is KA.....Say it....KA!!!!

Doesn't that sound like something powerful (unless you saying it like you prefer to stay in the bed and sleep it off b/c you feel the world is against you). The closest translation in english is spirit.

Spirit-
spirit (n.) Look up spirit at Dictionary.com
c.1250, "animating or vital principle in man and animals," from O.Fr. espirit, from L. spiritus "soul, courage, vigor, breath," related to spirare "to breathe," from PIE *(s)peis- "to blow" (cf. O.C.S. pisto "to play on the flute"). Original usage in Eng. mainly from passages in Vulgate, where the L. word translates Gk. pneuma and Heb. ruah. Distinction between "soul" and "spirit" (as "seat of emotions") became current in Christian terminology (e.g. Gk. psykhe vs. pneuma, L. anima vs. spiritus) but "is without significance for earlier periods" [Buck]. L. spiritus, usually in classical L. "breath," replaces animus in the sense "spirit" in the imperial period and appears in Christian writings as the usual equivalent of Gk. pneuma. Meaning "supernatural being" is attested from c.1300 (see ghost); that of "essential principle of something" (in a non-theological sense, e.g. Spirit of St. Louis) is attested from 1690, common after 1800. Plural form spirits "volatile substance" is an alchemical idea, first attested 1610; sense narrowed to "strong alcoholic liquor" by 1678. This also is the sense in spirit level (1768).
That word went through a whole lot to get where is at today and I am taken all over the place without any grounding. Another thing that I always found interesting is how much people spend time on defining something that they are a part of. Its like looking at my arm and giving it a million different meanings, displaying it at an art gallery and referring to it as if it is separate from my body......instead of just moving it for what I need it to do.

However, when I look at I see and feel something that awakens something inside. The infinite appears to be in reach as long as I know the channel and the degree to stretch my arms in and towards. I heard people say that especially for the times we are that connection and focus are essential, however they have always been essential. In fact, those things were first nature!!!! Second nature was to state that those things are essential. What I mean is that do and be in the know rather than know you need to do it and sit around trying to figure out how. When we research something that we know little about and we apply we are doing, do not get this confused with trying:

TRY-

1.
to attempt to do or accomplish: Try it before you say it's simple.
2.
to test the effect or result of (often fol. by out): to try a new method; to try a recipe out.
3.
to endeavor to evaluate by experiment or experience: to try a new field; to try a new book.
4.
to test the quality, value, fitness, accuracy, etc., of: Will you try a spoonful of this and tell me what you think of it?
5.
Law. to examine and determine judicially, as a cause; determine judicially the guilt or innocence of (a person).
6.
to put to a severe test; subject to strain, as of endurance, patience, affliction, or trouble; tax: to try one's patience.

Origin:
1250–1300; ME trien to try (a legal case)
And IF YOU FEEL AND KNOW THAT THE GOT THIS
TRADITION FROM US

????
YA IRIE????

Or this

NOW ON TO THE STORY

1, 10. Try, attempt, endeavor, strive all mean to put forth an effort toward a specific end. Try is the most often used and most general term: to try to decipher a message; to try hard to succeed. Attempt, often interchangeable with try, sometimes suggests the possibility of failure and is often used in reference to more serious or important matters: to attempt to formulate a new theory of motion. Endeavor emphasizes serious and continued exertion of effort, sometimes aimed at dutiful or socially appropriate behavior: to endeavor to fulfill one's obligations. Strive, stresses persistent, vigorous, even strenuous effort, often in the face of obstacles: to strive to overcome a handicap(this part is good)

Excuse me but that sucks!!!! I mean really sucks any potential for success......Now let's see what BT Express had to say.....

I'm satisfied
I'm satisfied
Go on and do it, ya

That's what I am talking about!!!! And notice the feeling you get
when you look at the them.....creativity!!!!! I hear a lot of talk about what we should be doing and how we are blinded to the truth, how he did this and that to keep us unaware......sounds like when I was a teen

We talk a lot about being cultural and don't take the time to research certain words that may not give good currency to our utterance.....so don't be blessing me....that still sounds like the old medieval church

The problem of definition of the word "blessing" is that it is not a direct translation from the Greek. The word "blessing" is a borrowed word which has attained its present day meaning by reason of long usage, rather than by etymological accuracy.

From the World Book Dictionary:

1a. "to consecrate (a thing) by religious rite, formula, or prayer" e.g., "the bishop blessed the new church"

1b. "to make holy or sacred." e.g., "And God blessed the 7th day and sanctified it", Gen. 2:3

2. "to ask God's favor for; to commend to God's favor or protection", e.g., "God bless mommy...daddy"

3. "to wish good for; to feel grateful to"

4. "to make happy or fortunate"

5. "to praise, to glorify, to call holy"

6. "to guard or protect from evil", e.g. "God bless this house"

7. "to make the sign of the Cross over; to ward off evil"

Question: Why was the English word "blessing" chosen to represent (eulogeitos).

The answer is found in Oxford English Dictionary (OED) -> one of the world's greatest detective books.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OED: to bless
1. "to make sacred; to hallow (something)".
"The word "bless" is from the Old Teutonic (German) bletsian, from heathen blood sacrifices. German: das Blut. English: blood.
"The meaning, then, was `to mark (or affect in some way) with blood (or a sacrificial animal)'.
"The sense development of the word `bless' was greatly influenced by its having been chosen (in the early English church ceremonies) to translate the Latin (benedicere) and the Greek (eulogeitos)."
Origin:
bef. 950; ME blessen, OE blētsian, blēdsian to consecrate, orig. with blood, earlier *blōdisōian (blōd blood + -isō- derivational suffix + -ian v. suffix) Put that stuff in an IV!!!!! Its not like you're doing it to show the relation between you and the creator b/c the creator you deal with is jealous and picky!!!! And yes there seems to be that the origin of this came from Africa some how, however, just b/c it does doesn't mean you do it. THAT'S IT FOR ME RIGHT NOW GOTTA GO TO THE INTERNSHIP
I leave you with my Ulimwengo posture for this rising
MINDSET
Dear Spiritual Warriors,
Good rising, First off, in the event that you think you are going to die, then you are dead already, have a nice day!!!!! LOL!!!! I was thinking how to start of today's blog and read a post from a friend of mine and thought....eh...why not? YES if you think you are going to die then you are already gone!!! You are 'trying' to make the most of every moment before it all ends.....that sucks!!!! Pardon me....that REALLY SUCKS all the potential mental awareness out of your being for everlasting life. Things are INFINITE and you being a part of all things THAT are INFINITE. Everything has cycles.....an outward expression and inward expression. Most of our reality is based on our what our eyes take in......so if you see this
and this comes to mind
Or if you 'SAW' this
And did this
GUESS WHAT?
HOWEVER, it is not too late to re-direct your MINDSET. Instead of thinking 'one day I am going to die might as well do whatever makes me happy' how about 'I AM GOING TO LIVE FOREVER AND I AM GOING TO MAKE ALL MY MOMENTS REFLECTIVE OF THE GREATNESS OF THE COSMOS!!!!!'
It is how our mind is set that determines our outcomes. I was thinking earlier that I quantify things by how many times I do a thing rather the quality of it....was I aware and in communion with Nature when I did. Truly, time as it is dictated is a factor of mental enslavement, I really feel that our ancestors used time to stay in tune with natural changes in their environment rather than making it a medium on how to conduct their every moment lives. Furthermore, the word time only existed for a small amount 'time'. MINDSET. I was also thinking that a true master does not call themselves one.....a master is called a master by others......their MINDSET is that their a student. Even the way we eat....how many of us eat b/c we want the energy of the cosmos to activate the inner energy in us? Show me your hands.....Raise them.....Hey I do not feel the air crowded with palms......LOL!!! Anyway, most of us eat out of taste however we do not train our taste to seek out energy on a conscious level.......We set goals for ourselves to encourage growth of spirit however if the goal indulges our insecurity or lack of self-worth, we begin to panic.....we look at the clock......we question ourselves.....we lose out on the enjoyment of the journey. Or when we have a challenge, we tend to think about all the things that can go wrong before we can think of any solutions.....'there's not enough toilet tissue in the bathroom we have guests coming, there's no place to get tissue around here for 5 blocks, they'll be here in 20 minutes, this always happens, we never plan right, they're going to think the worst of us and so on'. No one put on a jacket and walked to the store or asked a neighbor or called one of the reliable guests to bring some toilet paper, oh no, that would take up time and they would think bad of us.
HOW ABOUT......The meaning of LIFE?
HUH? How about that?
I thought about it.......there is none....none that's universal anyway....LIFE IS WHAT YOU GENERATE....THE UTTERANCE OF YOUR ENERGY.
Think about it....when you are in communion with the ALL or NTCHR, the question never comes up...at all.......someone spoon fed that to you
We thought about things and brought it into being...manifest it...we don't stick flags in other people's basements and call it a living room.....c'mon......
However, do not fret!!!!!
We HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY....
Ulimwengo for an hour Day 3
Dear Spiritual Warriors,
Ulimwengo is going well. Some adjustments to my water intake and eating will be added. We have the technology. Feeling a lot of pressure in upper joints, especially the arms, may have to cut the holding time to 10-15 minutes a day, for a few days, to adjustment my body to the daily holding of the posture. More alkaline liquids and nuts will be added to the body. Body will reciprocate and ask for more rest, a possible retreat from the myriad of things I am studying may assist. Quite possibly the 'too many minds' things is causing my energy to be scattered.
For most of my life, I have approach things from a very crude and unrefined way (although to others it may not seem that way) detesting males who take an exoburent amount of time pruning themselves. This was a strong reason I was attracted to Chi-KUng and the Dao, b/c immediately I saw how these principles and slow movements cultivated unrefined energy. Little did I know, I was actually seeking Kemet and our African cultural cosmic patterns. Of course, in the nineties I went through the whole 'bomb you' 'non-cipher' 'yahweh, elohim we are' are stage, however I never embraced our spiritual practices at that time, I did however embrace the Asian ways. Much later, I finally saw Ma'at and Jehuti cosmic principles in the things I was doing. Now I am looking to refine my expression physically and mentally seeing that taking care of your body and appearance is a spiritual cultivation....honestly never cared before....really......during the last few years it has become apparent to me.......ARIES,OX,TAURET get the picture?
In any case, when I see postures like these:
I can feel the energy generated by the stance and the focus and drive of the body parts communing with the individual's thought, truly form following function. What it takes for someone to stay still and engaged in the cosmic awareness is a beautiful thing!!!! Imagine the bs in your life that creates the backdrop of your daily life falling like cracked glass and being replaced by the pitch blackness of the universe as stars are born and stars return back to the blackness.....can you see that? Or is it when you practice you see the surface and something you can tell to your friends? Just asking?
It's as if any text that leads you into awareness of divinity is embraced into the muscles, joints and blood stream......no, no....the text becomes the catalyst to realize you have the IN-FORM-ACTION already.
I see these images in mind:
Before you strike the fork, listen to the cosmos first.
At the advice of my mate, I did less minutes today to give my body more time to build up the nutrients needed, since my recovery time is lessened by my internship during the day.
Still on the road.......
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Dear Spiritual Warriors,
What part of BLACK HISTORY MONTH is important? It is one month out the year that as a collective we recognize the accomplishments our people have made in this country, notice I said accomplishments not contribution. To some it is acceptance by those whose policies are not in favor of our growth. To others it is something to call or own. To me, it only prompts me to keep our Life Story in my heart in all my actions throughout this experience. For whatever the cause I have always been one to go the opposite direction of attention and popularity, quite possibly it is level of maturity in dealing with the ways of foreign social climate and my own cultural social climate. I have always felt that anything that felt invigorating and uplifting to the senses and soul once, should be added on to the collective force of dynamic energy and expressed throughout.
That's just my feeling. Never really put in the effort to get an inner-standing of BLACK HISTORY MONTH because it always landed on me as a pacifier to avoid attention on the real issues. Especially when tobacco, alcohol and other companies sponsored it
. So this Rising I did a search on it:
February is Black History Month
In 1915, Dr. Carter G. Woodson and Rev. Jesse E. Moorland co-founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH). Their goal was to research and bring awareness to the largely ignored, yet crucial role black people played in American and world history. The following year, Woodson published and distributed his findings in The Journal of Negro History. He founded the publication with the hope that it would dispel popular mistruths. He also hoped to educate black people about their cultural background and instill them with a sense of pride in their race.
SO FAR SO GOOD>>>>>> LET US GO ON>>>>>>>
The son of former slaves and the second black person to receive a degree from Harvard University, Carter Woodson understood the value of education. He also felt the importance of preserving one's heritage and, upon his urgings, the fraternity Omega Psi Phi >>>>>>>(I GUESS THIS ALLEGIANCE TO A FRATERNITY WAS NECESSARY)>>>>>>> created Negro History and Literature Week in 1920. In 1926, Woodson changed the name to Negro History Week. He selected the month of February for the celebration as a way to honor of the birth of two men whose actions drastically altered the future of black Americans. Abraham Lincoln, the U.S. President who issued the Emancipation Proclamation>>>>>>>>>HEY WAIT A MINUTE WASN'T THAT DONE FOR POLITICAL REASONS AND NOT OUT OF JUSTICE?>>>>>>> was born on February 12th and Frederick Douglass, >>>>>>>I CAN SEE HONORING MR. DOUGLASS, BUT WAS ABRAHAM LINCOLN OF OUR LINEAGE?>>>>>>>one of the nation's leading abolitionists was born on February 14th.
HOLD UP>>>>
Records dating to February 12, 1809 officially remark that Abraham Lincoln's parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks, however, there has been a new discovery which has put a new slant on the issue of parentage.
Abraham Lincoln's mother was having an affair with a black plantation worker and new DNA evidence suggests that she somehow tricked her husband into believing that Abraham was the couples child. Secret love letters unearthed in 2003 reveal that Lincoln's mother was conducting a clandestine affair with a slave named Iemis from a Kentucky plantation.
"We managed to attain DNA evidence from a lock of Abraham Lincoln's hair which proves that he had a very strong African genetic link. His chromosome makeup is very specific to West African DNA patterns and this suggests that Abraham's real father was indeed of African origin," Dr. Alan Holdsworth, who is the chief Anthropologist on this project told National Geographic magazine.
Lincoln's Speeches and Stances before 1862
"If all earthly power were given me," said Lincoln in a speech delivered in Peoria, Illinois, on October 16, 1854, "I should not know what to do, as to the existing institution [of slavery]. My first impulse would be to free all the slaves, and send them to Liberia, to their own native land." After acknowledging that this plan's "sudden execution is impossible," he asked whether freed blacks should be made "politically and socially our equals?" "My own feelings will not admit of this," he said, "and [even] if mine would, we well know that those of the great mass of white people will not ... We can not, then, make them equals."5
One of Lincoln's most representative public statements on the question of racial relations was given in a speech at Springfield, Illinois, on June 26, 1857.6 In this address, he explained why he opposed the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which would have admitted Kansas into the Union as a slave state:
There is a natural disgust in the minds of nearly all white people to the idea of indiscriminate amalgamation of the white and black races ... A separation of the races is the only perfect preventive of amalgamation, but as an immediate separation is impossible, the next best thing is to keep them apart where they are not already together. If white and black people never get together in Kansas, they will never mix blood in Kansas ...
Racial separation, Lincoln went on to say, "must be effected by colonization" of the country's blacks to a foreign land. "The enterprise is a difficult one," he acknowledged,
but "where there is a will there is a way," and what colonization needs most is a hearty will. Will springs from the two elements of moral sense and self-interest. Let us be brought to believe it is morally right, and, at the same time, favorable to, or, at least, not against, our interest, to transfer the African to his native clime, and we shall find a way to do it, however great the task may be.
EMMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION 1862
Whereas on the 22nd day of September, A.D. 1862, a proclamation was issued by the President of the United States, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:
"That on the 1st day of January, A.D. 1863, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the executive government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom.
"That the executive will on the 1st day of January aforesaid, by proclamation, designate the States and parts of States, if any, in which the people thereof, respectively, shall then be in rebellion against the United States; and the fact that any State or the people thereof shall on that day be in good faith represented in the Congress of the United States by members chosen thereto at elections wherein a majority of the qualified voters of such States shall have participated shall, in the absence of strong countervailing testimony, be deemed conclusive evidence that such State and the people thereof are not then in rebellion against the United States."
Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, by virtue of the power in me vested as Commander-In-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States in time of actual armed rebellion against the authority and government of the United States, and as a fit and necessary war measure for suppressing said rebellion, do, on this 1st day of January, A.D. 1863, and in accordance with my purpose so to do, publicly proclaimed for the full period of one hundred days from the first day above mentioned, order and designate as the States and parts of States wherein the people thereof, respectively, are this day in rebellion against the United States the following, to wit:
Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana (except the parishes of St. Bernard, Palquemines, Jefferson, St. John, St. Charles, St. James, Ascension, Assumption, Terrebone, Lafourche, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Orleans, including the city of New Orleans), Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia (except the forty-eight counties designated as West Virginia, and also the counties of Berkeley, Accomac, Morthhampton, Elizabeth City, York, Princess Anne, and Norfolk, including the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth), and which excepted parts are for the present left precisely as if this proclamation were not issued.
And by virtue of the power and for the purpose aforesaid, I do order and declare that all persons held as slaves within said designated States and parts of States are, and henceforward shall be, free; and that the Executive Government of the United States, including the military and naval authorities thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of said persons.
And I hereby enjoin upon the people so declared to be free to abstain from all violence, unless in necessary self-defence; and I recommend to them that, in all case when allowed, they labor faithfully for reasonable wages.
And I further declare and make known that such persons of suitable condition will be received into the armed service of the United States to garrison forts, positions, stations, and other places, and to man vessels of all sorts in said service.
And upon this act, sincerely believed to be an act of justice, warranted by the Constitution upon military necessity, I invoke the considerate judgment of mankind and the gracious favor of Almighty God.
BACK TO BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Woodson and the ANSLH provided learning materials to teachers, black history clubs and the community at large. They also published photographs that depicted important figures in black culture, plays that dramatized black history, and reading materials.
Dr. Carter G. Woodson died in 1950, but his legacy continued on as the celebration of Negro History Week was adopted by cities and organizations across the country. This observance proved especially important during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s, a time when the inhumane and unequal treatment of black people in America was being challenged and overturned.
The Black Power Movement of the 1970s emphasized racial pride and the significance of collective cultural values. This prompted the ASNLH, now called the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, to change Negro History Week to Black History Week. In 1976, they extended the week to a month-long observance.
Black History Month is now recognized and widely celebrated by the entire nation on both a scholarly and commercial level. The Association for the Study of African American Life and History continues to promote, preserve and research black history and culture year-round.
I did not know this before I searched this Rising......I feel a little moved to observe it....however, not so much. I have never been interested in political history no further than unveiling the truth. My thing is and will always be the spiritual evolution of my people as a whole being. I am not interested in proving anyone is of African descent unless it is to this goal or if they themselves added on to this goal. I am still in the thought that it is more important to feel an ideal or way of being in the heart than on paper or in the popular view, however in the event that these two things can be used as tools for that goal I am not all opposed to it. There is no need to wait for a special time in the year to recognize something valuable in essence unless that period in time herald's cosmic force. And no, I will honor no one person above all however, I will show my respect and appreciation to one who honors ALL.
I applaud the efforts Dr. Woodson for wanted to connect our people to their LifeStory.
Does it matter that our Life Story is celebrated by the entire nation or just by us? Does it matter that both on a scholarly and commercial level it is recognized? Is this the only way to show the youth the richness of their heritage through a paradigm of thought that does not totally embody the richness?
Just questions.......
